Adult Playground

Experimentation was the key to this wonderland project.

To transform an old abandoned flat in to a fully functioning adult playground with no boundaries.Designed to be a place of retreat and constant pleasure the interior was completely reconfigured to create an immersive sensory journey of colour psychology in order to reflect a playful and interactive aesthetic.

By also reflecting the inspiration deriving from the building giving it a late 70s contemporary vibe.This was achieved by combining unexpected colours, textures, furniture and lighting fixtures.Playful details bounce off each other such as the design of secret in wall wooden sliding doors which gives the inhabitant the ability to interconnect the living room with the guest room.A modern aesthetic and bold design which also pops in many small details such as, the handles on the cupboards the matched curtain hues which give the rooms a vision of infinity by also creating an indoor rainbow cocoon combined with timeless marble table tops and slabs of contrasts such as the orange hue in the bathroom.

By adopting this approach, one enters this space and has no limits to be a free spirit as using colour shows a true statement of no fear.

Last an adult playground should also have sustainability, as we all want to be children in heart, we also have a responsibility towards this beautiful earth.We used wooden ceiling fans instead of air-conditioning, state of the art aluminum frames, a solar water heater was installed and gas installations for appliances and heating.Contemporary commissioned designed smartly functional furniture was created by local artisans and fabrics were picked from local individual mills.
